July 2018: Low-Carb Picnic Recipes, Presentation by Dr. Dawn Lemanne, and My Latest Article6/18/2018 ![]() July is National Picnic Month. Although picnics are typically dominated by sandwiches, chips, and other high-carb fare, it's definitely possible to put together a low-carb picnic that's every bit as delicious. Here are 5 ideas for getting started. Crunchy and Nutty Cauliflower Salad from Elviira at Low Carb, So Simple (2.8 grams net carb per serving) 4 Low-Carb Mason Jar Salads from Carolyn at All Day I Dream About Food (less than 5 grams net carb per serving) Keto Sub Roll Ups from Lauren at KetoDiet App (1.6 grams net carb per serving) Mayo-Free Avocado Coleslaw from Brenda at Sugar-Free Mom (4.4 grams net carb per serving) Healthy Egg Salad Two Ways from Megha and Matt at Keto Connect (2-4 grams net carb per serving) Video Presentation by Dawn Lemanne, MD: "Carbohydrate Restriction to Enhance Cancer Therapy" August 2017, Low Carb Down Under Gold Coast This month I'm sharing the lecture integrative oncologist Dawn Leanne gave in Australia last summer. Although I unfortunately wasn't there, her discussion of carb-restricted diets as an adjunct to standard cancer treatment was reportedly one of the most popular presentations at the conference. The one thing I really miss is something crunchy with cinnamon on it like the cinnamon toast I grew up eating. Publix grocers has a "FLYING SAUCER" cinnamon thing I love, but it has millions of carbs. I've looked all over different keto sites, but can't find anything. Can you wave your magic wand and suggest a recipe that might fill the bill? I've loved your work ever since I saw your presentation from the big keto conference and it's now on DietDoctor.com. I recommend it to everyone I know getting started on LCHF.

Hi Robin, I truly wish I could help you find a low-carb version of crunchy cinnamon toast or something to rival Publix's Flying Saucer (which looks amazing!)
